Texas Fly Fishing and Brew Festival

The 4th Annual Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival will take place February 27-28, 2021 at the Mesquite Convention Center just 15 minutes from downtown Dallas. A great lineup of indoor casting demonstrations and classes are available with industry experts. Plus, come taste some of Texas' best microbrewed beer. The festival is also the perfect family activity this February, with something for everyone!

“We’re thrilled to partner with Mesquite to bring our unique festival to this great location,” says Festival Director Beau Beasley. “Since coming to Texas we’ve seen steady growth in both attendees and vendors, which requires a much larger venue. The Mesquite Convention Center allows us to offer an even greater variety of classes in 2021. This new location not only doubles our vendor space to accommodate the safety of our vendors and attendees, but also includes food trucks.”
Bruce Archer, Mayor of Mesquite, commented, “We are excited to host the Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival in 2021. Mesquite is the perfect place to host this family-friendly event, and attendees can experience real Texas flavor and our community’s hospitality.”
The family-friendly Texas Fly Fishing & Brew Festival offers something for everyone interested in the quiet sport of fly fishing. The curious novice can take casting classes designed with the absolute beginner in mind; the veteran fly angler will discover classes to challenge and delight. Fly fishing specialty manufacturers, lodges, fly tyers, fly fishing authors, guides, kayak manufacturers and outfitters from across the US and beyond will participate. A general admission ticket grants access to a wide variety of free and specialty classes.
Patrons over 21 years old can learn about and sample micro-brewed beer from Texas’ own Tupps, Four Corners, Sweetwater, and Hop & Sting breweries. Bourbon lovers, Treaty Oak Distillery will also join us with samples. Attendees may also purchase quality drinks. There will be classes by top brewmasters with their tips and tricks. Spend the day with some of the best breweries in Texas and meet some of the people responsible for your favorite beers!

Women continue to make waves in fly fishing. The Texas festival has teamed up with, Take Me Fishing & Tailwaters Fly Fishing to make women anglers feel as welcome as possible to the quiet sport.

On Saturday, February 27, angling women begin with a complimentary breakfast at Tailwaters Fly Fishing hosted by Tailwaters employee Madison Scarborough (pictured here) and TFO's Kim Penick.

After breakfast, angling women can enjoy a full day at the Texas Fly & Brew, where Scarborough and Penick will offer a special class just for women anglers: "Women and the Future of Fly Fishing" will address the questions of interest to novice and experienced women anglers alike. Attendees may also take advantage of a complimentary one-year membership to Trout Unlimited.

Special hotel rates have been arranged at Mesquite area hotels. Make it a staycation and enjoy the shopping and dining throughout Mesquite, the Official Rodeo Capital of Texas: Book a hotel room here in Mesquite and stay for the weekend! Purchase tickets directly from the festival's website.
