From big chains in one of the area’s largest malls to small mom-and-pop boutiques, you can spend the day enjoying the options on a trip to this Texas city—which features more than three million square feet of retail space. Here are just some of your options when you’re looking to head out for a day of shopping.

DOWNTOWN MESQUITE

Looking for something a little more intimate? Then head to Downtown Mesquite, where you’ll shop at smaller stores with authentic local flavor in the historic heart of the community. Here you’ll find florists, locally-owned restaurants, bootmakers, and fun neighborhood events. In Downtown start your day with gourmet coffee and pastries at Bear Cave Coffee, stop by Windsor Florist for one-of-a-kind gifts, get healthy at MVP Nutrition and Energy, and discover a treasured book at The Book Co. Also, head there in late November for Small Business Saturday where you will enjoy holiday shopping, festive surroundings and more while you support local businesses.

TOWN EAST MALL

Looking for lots of shops in one convenient place? The opportunities for fun and fashion are endless at Town East Mall in Mesquite. More than 150 specialty shops await you, so whether it’s the holiday season or just an average weekday, you can expect to discover something for everyone on your list. Fuel your shopping spree with a bite at the 750-seat food court where you’ll have your choice of more than 8 eateries serving all your favorites.

MARKET EAST SHOPPING CENTER

Just across the street from the mall and located along Interstate 635 and Town East Blvd. the Market East Shopping Center features approximately 350,000 square feet of developed retail—and it’s growing even more, with a total of more than 475,000 square feet expected in the coming years. Here you’ll find a Super Target, Academy, Ulta, Homegoods, Marshall’s, and Burkes Outlet.. If you’re looking for a top national brand, chances are it’s in this area.

THE ANTIQUE GALLERY OF MESQUITE

Are you up for some antiquing? Mesquite stands out as one of the top destinations in the area for one-of-a-kind items from the past. You’ll have plenty to choose from at the Antique Gallery of Mesquite, which is far from your typical antique store. The complex hosts 36,000 square feet of fabulous finds that you won’t get anywhere else, with 170 dealers and counting. Whether your decorating style is formal, modern, colorful, or retro, you’ll unearth plenty of things to choose from that will be sure to turn heads. Vendors bring in new items daily, so it’s never the same experience—and chances are there’s a hidden treasure for you somewhere. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from noon to 6 pm.

If you enjoy crafting and other artistic endeavors, Mesquite has specialty shops for quilting, sewing, and other craft-oriented activities. Plan a fun night at Painting with a Twist, for those who like to dabble in art.
