See the Texas Bluebonnets at Samuell Farm

Texas Bluebonnets in bloom at Samuell Farm
The Texas Bluebonnets are in full bloom and waiting for you at Samuell Farm. Located in Mesquite and open to the public, explore 600 acres that host two parks, trails, freshwater ponds, and free space filled with Texas Bluebonnets. Dr. William Worthington Samuell left the land behind for others to have a place to be around nature and appreciate it. It is the perfect time to bring this mission to life as springtime arrives in Texas.

In the North Park, prepare to find a one-mile paved hike and bike trail that runs past a small pond. This park holds the majority of the Texas Bluebonnets that are Instagram worthy. Spend some time in the spring air admiring the native Texas wildflower. This park is located at 218 E Tripp Rd, Sunnyvale, TX 75182.

Afternoon fishing is a great way to enjoy the fresh air and spend some time alone. Over in South Park, two freshwater ponds are open to fishing. Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout, and Sunfish Species are ready for even the novice fishermen. Be sure to follow the Community Fishing Lake Regulations posted throughout the park. This park is located at 100 US-80, Mesquite, TX 75149.

As we are all spending more time indoors with working from home and homeschooling, it is essential to go outside and get some much-needed sun. Still keep in mind and abide by all the social distancing notices posted at the entrance of the park. For more info, please refer to the graphic below provided by Mesquite’s Parks and Recreation.
