Where to See Blooming Texas Bluebonnets Near Dallas

Not only is the Texas bluebonnet the state flower of the Lone Star State, but it’s also very present in and around the town of Mesquite! These beautiful blue flowers are synonymous with spring in Texas and are the perfect sign of the impending warmer weather. Every year Texans and out-of-state admirers alike travel to see the Texas bluebonnets for themselves. If you’re looking for where to see blooming Texas Bluebonnets near Dallas in 2021, you’re in luck!


Samuell Farm’s Texas Bluebonnets



What’s better than a garden of Texas bluebonnets? Grab your camera and capture acres of these stunning flowers. There is an “island” of blue bonnets at Mesquite. A “340+ acre county island”, or a portion of Dallas County is set apart as Samuel Farm along I-80 adjacent to Mesquite on the south and Sunnyvale on the north. Samuell Farm two parks are filled with flowers, and are free and open to the public. There are hundreds of acres to explore solo, or with friends or family. Walk or bike along the trails, climb the children’s playground equipment, fish at the two ponds, or have a picnic as you enjoy this island of Texas Bluebonnets. It’s one of the best activities to celebrate spring in Texas!


Samuell Farm and Samuel Farm North are open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and completely free to enjoy. The bluebonnet fields are great for nature lovers, enjoying after a morning hike, or including in Instagram-worthy photos. The best time to visit is in the spring from Mid-April to May, so visit while they’re blooming. Enjoy the log cabin, windmills, red barn, farmhouse with breezeway, picturesque bridges, and an old timely tractor that are a lovely photo backdrop.
