Where to find mac & cheese in Mesquite for National Macaroni and Cheese Day

Macaroni and cheese is relatively simple: pasta tubes, cheese, milk, some butter and you’re in business.

But perhaps because of its simplicity it also is incredibly versatile. There are so many potential combinations, whether using a different type of cheese, adding a breading or getting an add-on like chicken or jalapeno into the mix.

Whether you’re a purist who wants to keep it basic or love a macaroni mish-mash, July 14 is the day the people who decide these things have deemed we celebrate macaroni and cheese.

You can always ... craft ... your own at home, but if you want to grab mac and cheese around town, here are five great options

Soulman’s Bar-B-Que

The North Texas chain obviously specializes in smoked meats but their saying “We’re not stingy with our meats” also seems to extend to their portions size of mac and cheese which you can get on the side or on its own. Visit Soulman's Bar-be-que Mesquite for this and other delicious meals.

Mesquite Diner

With its menu text looking more apt for a phone book, it should be no surprise Mesquite Diner serves up a mean mac and cheese in addition to favorites like the tuna melt sandwich or its Mexican fare.

Sports City Cafe

On both the sides menu and the kid's menu, Sports City Cafe offers mac and cheese in addition to its normal fare of wings, pizzas, and burgers that pair nicely with watching the game. Not in the mood to stick to the theme? You also can do a penne pasta alfredo with chicken or shrimp.
