Nature Lovers

When the weather is warm and the sun is out, there’s no better way to enjoy Mesquite than by experiencing the outdoors. With more than 70 parks to enjoy, there is no shortage of nature to explore. Visit the Butterly Trail in Paschall Park for a self-guided nature walk among the beauty of the native trees, plants and wildflowers while seeing the butterflies as they migrate. If you’re looking to enjoy the day fishing or are searching for the right picnic spot, check out City Lake Park.

Grab your bikes for a ride on the Mesquite Heritage Trail. Conquer 4.25 miles of concrete trails and sidewalks that bring together three trailheads. The popular Mesquite attraction also connects visitors and residents to the Mesquite Golf Club, schools, recreation centers, sports fields and shopping.


Sports Fans

For the dedicated sports enthusiast, Mesquite is home to the Mesquite Outlaws, a Major Arena Soccer League team. The Outlaws battle it out in the Mesquite Arena from November through April. The arena is also home to the Mesquite Championship Rodeo. For more than 50 years, the rodeo has brought visitors to Mesquite every summer for a great show and earned the city the designation of the Official Rodeo Capital of Texas by the state legislature. Be sure to make a trip during the rodeo season that kicks off in June and ends in August.

The Devil’s Bowl Speedway is the place to be for dirt track racing entertainment and the ultimate adrenaline rush. Be sure to purchase a Pit Pass, to meet the drivers, take pictures and watch the races from the center of the track. If you are looking to get active, book some tee time at the Mesquite Golf Club or tackle one of the disc golf courses.
