The Mesquite Championship Rodeo is Every Saturday this Summer

That's right! It's a weekly rodeo, Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., in Mesquite. Click here to purchase tickets or read below to discover why Mesquite is the Official Rodeo Capital of Texas.
This year the Mesquite Championship Rodeo will be the first ticketed athletic event in the country. Neal Gay founded the rodeo in 1957 as a permanent attraction, as opposed to the traveling competitions that were popular at that time. Called “the original Western sport,” rodeo is the oldest sports franchise in the area. ESPN began broadcasting rodeo performances from the Mesquite Championship Rodeo in the mid-1980s, and it’s now one of the most televised rodeos in the world. The Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association has nominated the event for Rodeo of the Year several times.
Today, fans head to the Mesquite Arena each summer to watch their favorite rodeo events like saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, bareback riding, team roping, barrel racing, tie-down roping and — of course – bull riding. Upgrades to the arena have contributed to a more exciting rodeo year after year. Renovations include a jumbotron for a better look at the action on the arena floor and updated VIP suites.

The rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m.; however, the doors open at 6 p.m. Be sure to get there early for the most authentic Texan entertainment you will find in the state. Purchase your tickets today to experience it for yourself.
